The American medical technology company, Ava, has recently launched its fertility app bracelet capable of detecting the start of a woman’s fertility window.
The Ava bracelet is not the first fertility app to help couples trying to conceive, but what makes it different is the simplicity of its use. Where most apps either require you to input data or physically monitor your temperature daily, the Ava bracelet is worn at night and it does all the work for you. It is also the first-ever device to reveal a woman’s most fertile days as and when they occur.

According to a company press release, the bracelet’s sensors monitor around 3-million data points (every night) that are linked to a rise in estradiol and progesterone, the reproductive hormones. These data points include things like breathing rate, pulse rate, quality of the night’s rest, temperature etc.
Ava Science CEO and co-founder Lea von Bidder says that couples trying to fall pregnant aren’t always aware how difficult it is to fall pregnant. “Even if you’re tracking your periods to try to optimize your timing for conception, only about 30 percent of women have fertile windows that fall entirely within the time that clinical guidelines predict,” she adds.
Technology like this, together with a healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, regular exercise, and of course, frequent intercourse during the fertile window is a magnificent medical advancement.
